Silo’s Napa hosted their second round of the West Coast Songwriters competition the day after Christmas. As the previous winners of the “Best Performance” we were asked to be the featured performers for the event. Here’s a quick glimpse of the evening.
We want to thank those of you who came out and supported us and the event, as well as those of you who are here and supporting us right now. It means a lot to us.
The best way to keep live music alive is to come out in person and support your favorite local acts, songwriters, singers, and musicians. We appreciate and thank you!
Recently on our two week Hawaiian vacation, (photoshow here) we wrote a new song called “Lose Yourself in Aloha” and while the song was written on and just for an ukulele, we decided to try something a little different.
Some studio pre-production to see what would happen if we built it up a bit.
Thanks to some talented engineering and production by Bob Madsen, Lindsey Spight, and Kenny Steel, we were able to see our vision and dream become that much closer to a reality. Take a listen to our first round rough mix, we hope you like it.
“Lose Yourself in Aloha” a Hawaiian original by Brad and Debra Andersohn.
TIP: It sounds best if you use headphones since the upright bass frequencies are lower than most laptops, desktops, or mobile devices can recognize. YOUR opinions and comments matter so please let us know what you think? Thanks.
“We were just there to support both the event and all the local competing musicians and songwriters” said Brad and Debra. “Everyone is a winner at these events.”
Special thanks to Ellen Elizabeth for putting this event and venue together for the West Coast Songwriters Napa Chapter, and an extra-special thanks to VIP judge, Bill Craig for sharing his expertise and time with all the aspiring songwriters in the house.
“All monthly Winners will return for the Semi-Finals in July, the winner for Best Song of that will move on to the Grand Finals in August at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley for a chance of 3 slots to play at the annual Sunset Music Concert at the WCS Annual Conference in September. Winners for the Best Performance win a ticket for the drawing and an opportunity for an open mic slot at the annual conference.”

“Extra Extra!! Read all about it!”A classic shout and quote if there ever was one!
Special thanks to Heather Ah San at the “Daily Republic” for featuring our story in today’s local newspaper. It’s true, the local neighborhood dogs started crooning at the sounds of some vintage songs being performed in our backyard!
